Science can be fun

In today's high-tech society it is important that children develop an interest in science at an early age and see that science is a part of our lives. By becoming comfortable with science at an early age, children can reap many long term benefits. Getting children interested in science does not take a lot of time and effort. Their natural curiosity will ease the way. Making it fun is the key element. The learning process in children happens through play. During play the world is not so threatening. Kids feel safe, secure and capable. They explore on their own. There is an old Chinese saying:
I hear and I forget.
I see and I remember
I do and I understand.
Information and knowledge gained from hands- on activities and self discovery remains in the long term memory.

There is no need for a special place or equipment for teaching science to kids. Most of the materials and equipment needed can be obtained in home, school, grocery store or local hardware store. Science activity can be carried out with a single kid or group of kids. It can be carried out whenever you want or wherever you want. For example when there is nothing to do and kids are bored. When the weather outside is not friendly. It can be carried out in the kitchen, in the garden, nature hikes, beach trips etc..

Science experiments in our house started in the kitchen. One day when I was baking cookies, my kids were helping. Curious as usual, they started asking questions. Why do we add sugar? Why do we add eggs? Why do we have to add baking powder? At that moment a bulb lighted in my head. We made some cookies without baking powder and compared. This became a hobby. We started experimenting with lot of things, sometimes purely on impulses. But we sure enjoyed that time. Some examples that quickly come to mind are: a) one day when we were folding laundry, some clothes had static. They made small cracking noises and stuck. We had fun learning and experimenting with lot of other things that produce static electricity. b) When we had gone to the beach we started talking about the sea/ocean water being salty and how salt is extracted from the sea water. Kids brought some sea water back home and placed it in sunlight in a shallow tray. In 2-3 days the water evaporated and they collected the salt crystals. The satisfaction in self discovery is incomparable. Without any prompting from me kids also experimented if saltwater freezes faster or tap water.

Looking at their interest, pretty soon me and my friend got together and started doing planned experiments with our children in a group setting. Kids enjoyed them and looked forward to the experiment days. Volcanoes and slimes were a lot of fun. When we did an experiment on coloring daisies, (white daisies if placed in colored water, pick up that color. In a few hours their petals start showing the color in the water) it did not end there. Pretty soon more flowers got experimented on and then came the question Why some flowers pick up colors faster than the others? One day while we were weeding in the garden we had an amusing finding. There were lots of Lady Bugs on one particular type of weed. That led us to the information on how and why certain bugs favor certain plants or animals. Similarly different kinds of rocks found in the garden piqued kids interest and we ended up doing a project on rocks.

I was happy to see that I had achieved what I was aiming for: 1) Questioning of observed events leading to finding information. 2) Promotion of independent thinking and reasoning process in the versatile young minds.

This first step Science is fun can be followed by the next more exciting step, where kids learn that Science is also an adventure and challenge. It often requires some detective work and it requires learning of a methodical step by step approach to solve problems. This approach is called The scientific method. The steps in a scientific method can be roughly outlined as follows. 1) If you have to solve a problem start by collecting data. Read books, talk to people, and make observations. 2) Brainstorm- Spend time looking over and understanding the information collected. Have discussions if you are working in a team. 3) Make predictions. 4) Design and carry out experiments. 5) Analyze your results and derive conclusions.

It is a lot more fun to do these activities in a group or as a team. Parents or friends can be very good companions. As kids grow up participation in science fairs can also bring a good learning experience.
So parents get involved with your kids science activities and share with them the excitement of being a scientist and an explorer. Kids will know that science can be fun. Once they get interested they will keep thinking, investigating and inventing for ever.

A Writing Enterprise

Judith and Garfield Reeves-Stevens came to Hollywood to write. While in town, they managed to tear down some common entertainment industry assumptions.

Common wisdom says husbands and wives shouldn't work together. But, they are a very successful and inseparable writing team. Industry tradition holds that you have to be 20 years old and fresh out of college to write for television. However, there's no way anyone fresh out of college could have piled up the credits this pair did before arriving in network TV. Finally, Hollywood insists that the nice guys finish last ? while the Reeves-Stevenses get work as much for their professional pleasant temperament as their considerable talent.

As co-producers on Enterprise, the last production in Paramount Star Trek television franchise, they were part of a team charged with recharging a series that struggled in its third season. They helped to improve the show by leaps and bounds, though the ratings damage was already too late.

At first impressions, the Reeves-Stevenses seem an unlikely choice for such an important TV task as forging the plot-lines of Star Trek. They seem far too nice to have found so much success in Hollywood. They're the kind of polite, soft-spoken Canadians you'd expect to find running a bed and breakfast in Niagara ? not writing screenplays, TV scripts, novels and non-fiction books.

As writers, we didn't make changes to the show, Garfield said. Executive producers Rick Berman and Brannon Braga and show-runner Manny Coto planned the overall direction of the series and made any changes to the mythos.

Our job was to provide good stories that stick to Star Trek continuity. It's to our benefit that we know that continuity after writing Star Trek books for 10 years. In TV, we're telling a more compact story with clearer rules. For television, we were writing a Star Trek tale in a more linear mode, but the themes remain the same ? the ideas of exploration and an optimistic future.

He added, Those themes played a big role with Enterprise because this world is still new.

Both writers said there was no over-riding plan or need to recreate Enterprise after its first three years.

The entire team felt that it was more a matter of taking what had been established in seasons 1, 2 and 3 and making sense out of that rather than recreating the show into season 4, Garfield said. In Next Generation, halfway through the series, they made a deliberate decision to invoke the name of Spock ? finally naming a character from the original series. They wanted to establish that show as distinct before introducing other past elements.

The same decision was made for Enterprise. If the first season had been so devoted to prequels and tie-ins, it never would have got on its feet for the same story.

Before being recruited onto the Paramount lot, the Reeves-Stevens wrote several Trek novels, including several with William Shatner featuring the continued adventures of James T. Kirk. On, their own, they're a pair of New York Times and Los Angeles Times bestselling novelists with dual fascinations with NASA and science fiction. Their books are published in the United States, Canada, and England, and in translation in Czechoslovakia, France, Germany, Holland, Israel, Italy, Japan, Poland, Russia, Spain, and the Ukraine.

In TV, the Reeves-Stevenses were staff writers for the second season of Sir Arthur Conan Doyle's The Lost World - the syndicated one-hour action-adventure series from New Line. For the series' third season, the Reeves-Stevenses returned as supervising producers on location in Australia. In other episodic work, the Reeves-Stevenses have written for John Woo's Once a Thief, The Hitchhiker, MTV's Catwalk, and Beyond Reality.

The team's experience in science fiction made them a natural choice for work on Enterprise: It was easier for us to come into Star Trek than it might be for other sci-fi writers, Judith said. Even though they are all very talented and very well-informed on sci-fi, they might not be up to date on all of the Star Trek continuity.

While writing the Star Trek books, you explain events in the mythos that are still open to interpretation. Now, Enterprise is doing the same thing ? such as explaining the origin of Klingon head bumps from the original series to the Star Trek movies.

Garfield explained that in Star Trek lore, what happens on screen is considered narrative canon, while anything in books, comics or video games is superfluous.

It was a challenge for us to add to the ?canon,' he said.

Judith added, Writing for Star Trek was interesting for us also because we'd written for all of the other Star Trek eras, but we hadn't written for these characters yet. We wondered how quickly we could get the voices of these characters. But, we had the ability to go down to set and watch the actors.

According to Judith, there were other adjustments the pair had to make to their writing and working routine: Well, we had to start getting up in the morning and going into an office. We obviously write our books out of our home.

Garfield added that Enterprise also offers a much faster process than their book work. The team has three books coming out this year, and the writing of one (Going to Mars) was a six-year process.

Writing for TV is great for almost instant gratification because you write a script, and ? five weeks later ? it's on TV. During that process, you're coming into the office, working on a script and taking meetings only on the script you're working on. But, you watch the sets get built, watch the dailies, come in, etc.

It helps that it was the 25th season of Star Trek in production, he added. So it was a well-oiled system we were watching.

The nicest thing for us was that we knew the people involved through writing the books over 10 years, Judith said. We were talking to them about their jobs. We were able to see all aspects of the working company. We were able to ask questions that a writer working on a script might not be able to ask.

So, we came on board as writers and co-producers, it felt as though we were really joining old friends.

Traffic School Online What You Really Need To Know Guide.

Yes, I?m a pretty good driver. In fact I grew up in a town where cars?hot rods and trucks and the like?were respected, if not revered. I had undergone my training in a driver education program at a high school that had the knowledge of wintry weather and expected the need for definite driving skills that surpassed those persons living in sunny states.. perhaps for instance driving on ice, snow, sleet etc.

In spite of being quick and hyper-alert, though I love to drive a good fast car, in all my driving years (which equals about thirty-one years); I have only had three traffic violations: the first one was when I was 16 years I had got a speeding ticket, trying to beat curfew; the second one for a no seat belt ticket, when I was pulled over because a headlamp was out; and got a red light violation one night when I much aware but wanted to get home after working continuously all day and all night at a college an hour and a half away from where I lived.

But alas last week, having just relocated to a new town only recently- in the last few months- I got pulled over yet again for speeding. For sure, I was a bit startled, personally I feel I was not speeding, but was doing 44 in a part of town where, I have since studied, the signs go from 35 to 25 to 35 to 25 (in one spot TWO SIGNS, one for 35 AND one for 25 are together?????)?almost like a speed trap set-up, if you ask me.

To my good luck, the officer was not only a cool chap, but also kind and jovial. One of the first things he said, after enquiring with me when was the last time I got a speeding ticket (which was 30 years ago), was that I could go to traffic school online!

Sure, I heard a couple of my friends talking over the last few years about traffic school online, and just about everything like how you can keep adding points to your driver record (points increasing means, evidently, insurance rates increasing), as well as learned of friends who had done traffic school online to ease the cost of the traffic ticket. (For instance, a red light violation, once a whopping $107 in my area, is now nearly $400!). Hence I now get to experience first hand the traffic school online adventure. No sooner I started to research I discovered that, logically, one must use an accredited traffic school online- one that is genuine and will issue you the documentation you need to prove to the courts you have paid your penalty.

Another thing I found out about traffic school online are they can be manageable, thus allowing you to study at your own pace or during at times when you are available; besides traffic school online is cheap; and the fact that traffic school online, if you search long enough, will surely appeal to your particular learning style?offering you games if you are a go-getter, or maybe text only if you prefer verbal instruction, as well as cartoons and short films if you are a keen visual learner.

Here?s hoping that I manage to complete my traffic school online in the next few days, and will either go with comedy or cartoons and games. They not only look promising but hopefully will not humiliate me too much with road rules I learned 31 years ago and ace on every DMV test, etc., despite the fact that once every decade ?forget?. What a reminder!

The Beauty Of Playstation 2 Games

Can you remember the first videogames that introduced the world to the joys of videogames? I'm talking about the ones that were introduced in the 80s. We had the ever-popular Pac-Man, Asteroids, and Centipeed. Those outstanding innovations were the bomb! I remember how I used to play pitfall on my Atari and it was great fun.

It is really cool that it has gotten even better now. It amazingly just keeps getting better and better. Those amazing electronics and graphics always improve. Are you a big PS2 fan? When the council first came out I was blown away. The big pitch didn't only concern the playstation 2 games, but also the DVD option. PS two was actually a flexible enough to use as a DVD player. Folks loved this convenient option. Suddenly they didn't need to purchase a DVD player. You could actually watch movies with the period It was an all-in-one deal. How cool is that?

I recall the first time I headed over to my brother's house to take a look at his new PS2 and his new playstation 2 games. Being out of the video game loop since the first Nintendo, I was utterly flabbergasted at the realistic graphics and sound effects. These new playstation 2 games are just so real. It is such a quantum improvement over the classic Atari games that it isn't even funny. No more stick men. There was anything from martial arts games to sports games to spy adventures. It looked incredibly lifelike. Who wouldn't love playstation 2 games?

Now people all over the world take great pleasure in playstation 2 games. They compete against friends and strangers alike, and battle the bad guys for as long as Mom and Dad allows it. How To Download Ipod Games

Before I wrote this article I was sitting on my porch, enjoying the afternoon sun while playing Me and My Katmari on my Ipod. Now I love downloading Ipod games but until recently I didn?t even know you could download games onto your Ipod until my friend John showed me how.

It?s quite easy to download Ipod games. Most sites provide the converter you need in order to put the Ipod software downloads onto your Ipod.

Once you?ve downloaded the games of your choice, you can play them directly on your Ipod Mini, Ipod Nano or video Ipod.

There are so many different games you can download to your Ipod; sports, action, strategy, puzzles, driving, adventure, simulations and role-playing. Some of the most popular games at the moment are action games such as Persuit Force, Daxter and Grand Theft Auto: Liberty City Stories. Popular shooter games include Syphon Filter: Dark Mirror and Tom Clancy?s Splinter Cell Essentials. A popular arcade/puzzle game is Me and My Katmari. Two popular fighting games are Fight Night: Round 3 and Dragon Ball Z: Shin Budokai.

These games are just the tip of the iceberg. With so many Ipod games to download, you?re spoiled for choice. Of course, you could always download ALL the Ipod games. That?s sure to keep you busy for a while!

Book Review: A Broad Abroad In Thailand By Dodie Cross

Book Review: A Broad Abroad In Thailand By Dodie CrossSubmitted By: Simon Barrett [See Author?s Biography

This is to say the least an interesting and entertaining read that covers far more ground than the title implies. Told with a huge amount of humor we follow Dodie on her sojourn to Thailand, where things do not work out as planned. As she ruefully reflects on in the final chapters, what seems like a great opportunity at the time, had enough flashing warning lights that she should have spotted early on.

The story opens with our heroine working a mundane office job during the day, and helping out part time at a local golf course in the evenings. Here she meets he husband to be, the club Pro Dick. Although not exactly swept off her feet in passion, they do eventually become lovers. It transpires that Dick prior to becoming a Golf Pro has had considerable experience in the construction world. Happenstance puts Dick and Dodie in a position where a two-year contract for a construction project in exotic Thailand is theirs for the taking. A free house, bags of tax free money, what more could you ask for? Of course there is one minor hitch, for Dick to get the full company benefits, he must be married.

Whats a fun loving, adventure seeking gal to do? Well if your name is Dodie Cross you of course get married, and start packing! Minor things like 'love' can be worked on later!

It doesn't take our adventurous author long to discover that the 'land of smiles' may well be full of smiles, but the company compound where everyone must live is anything but Eden. A repressive management, or to be exact the manager's wife, has created her own version of hell on Earth. Endless lists of rules and regulations, the company not only owns the employees, but their wives and families as well. Must-attend meetings, shopping trips, card games, and parties are all part of the social calendar.

None of this sits well with Dodie, and she of course decides to buck the system, even worse she discovers that Dick is a 60 year old sex maniac! Stress at home, stress from he bosses, all start to weigh heavily on Dodie, an unexpected medical problem also adds to her growing list of issues.

A Broad Abroad In Thailand is a great read, it is written in a very humorous style, I particularly enjoyed the Pigin English dialog with the local Thai people. That on its own makes this book a hit! Dodie, undaunted by minor and in some cases major setbacks,'bags and crashes' her way through life. This is a must read book for anyone contemplating living and working in a foreign land, from marital to medical, the problems are so much greater than being at home.

About Dodie Cross: she is a freelance writer who has received numerous awards for her writing and poetry, among them the prestigious Southern California Writer's Conference First Place Award for Best Nonfiction, as well as First Place in their inaugural Poetry Award. She has accrued first and second place prizes in her published articles. Dodie has traveled the world, writing about her life in foreign countries such as Iran and Thailand, as well as American locales such as New Orleans, Orange County, California and Lake Chelan, Washington. Look for her next book: One Strappy-Sandaled Foot Ahead of the Mullahs: An Expat's Life in Iran Before and During the Revolution.

How Can Any One Copy Music To Your PSP Free

How Can Any One Copy Music To Your PSP FreeSubmitted By: Marcus Rolland

Do you know that Transferring music and other audio files to your PSP is not difficult, once you know the process. This article is going to show you any one Copy Music to his or her PSP for Free.

Adventure plus accentuated technology is what the PSP or Playstation Portable is all about. Gone are the days that kids play outside and enjoy their best games with their friends. With the advent of Internet and the skyrocketing technology, kids now could enjoy playing games with their best buds even inside the house, far from their groups of friends and share time playing their favorite games with the use of a PSP. What exactly could a PSP do compare to the ever famous PS2?

PSP and PS2 differ in size, considering that PSP is a lighter version of the PS2?handy, portable, has a built-in sound card and is Wi-fi ready. PSP?s capability to connect through wi-fi allows you to play with your best buds online. This also means you could connect through the Internet if you have a higher firmware version, or at least 2.00. With the use of a Universal Media Disc format (UMD), you can enjoy your online games with your online buddies even you?re traveling or enjoying your vacation in Aruba!

The PSP is packaged at a color black handheld device weighing around 62 lbs or around 280 grams with its battery. Never underestimate this small device for it consists of a 32 MB memory and can provide you the best 16.77 millions of colors available for your best viewing time. This means you could watch the perfect hues and colors of the images in your PSP. And that?s not all the PSP could offer. Say how could you enjoy viewing the almost-real images if you?re unable to play the sounds or at least play music if you?re bored of playing games?

With this consideration, the PSP handheld device could offer you best ways on how to copy music on the PSP itself. As you all know, listening to music could elevate your moods when you?re all tired playing online games with your buddies. Not all that time that you want to play using your PSP. Music soothes your times while on travel. Remember, your PSP has 32MB and what does it mean?

To copy music on the PSP, you can either use its UMD features or a Memory Stick. Whichever is your choice, it?s important to understand while PSP device offers bigger space for your games, music and video, PSP is however limited to building and accessing files when comes to music and videos. At this time, UMD music quality is very limited and Sony isn?t providing information if there are future offers. With the use of memory sticks, you can copy music on your PSP but you?ll need a bigger memory stick for you to transfer music files.

The catch there is it will really take you longer times to successfully transfer music to your PSP say 3-5 minute transfer compared to iRiver which takes around 30-40 seconds. With this info in mind and in order for you to enjoy time listening to music, equip yourself with tons of patience while allotting time for your PSP to load music from your memory stick.

Things I Love About Google

The word Google is on the lips of young and old. Ask anyone a question and if they don't know pat will come the answer ask Google. Among the many search engines in the World Wide Web, Google stands apart. Its unique, exciting, innovative, and a pioneer.
Like adventurers of yesteryears that sailed the un-chartered seas, Google sails the cyber universe in search of adventure.

Easy to use, Google is a free service with a mission to offer at a click the world's information. A clever use of the mathematical term Googol, 1 followed by a 100 zeros, it just means infinite information presented in an organized way.

Google is not any ordinary set up its philosophy and commitment to cost containment just means that every employee in any part of the world is a multi-tasker and hands on contributor. Work and play are both inborn in Google staff that enjoy their work and are obsessive about creating search perfection. So, employees from all over the world, speaking dozens of languages, originating from widely differing yet colorful cultures have one thing in common Google is their life and breathe of fresh air.

It is simplicity and faith in its staff that has enabled Google to better the best. Every one thinks on the go and before a blink of an eye innovations are introduced -be it a spell checker or Google Number Search to facilitate use of Google from WAP phones. The keys to success lie in information has no end just beginnings, fast is better than slow, the motto is to provide instantaneous answers to surfer queries. The secret to the success is to focus on user needs and keep things simple. And do not stray from the path. The key is to concentrate on search.

What makes great business sense is the motto do no evil. This serves to reemphasize the business ideals and philosophies. In fact one thing people love about Google is that it stands by its beliefs. Google was unique in refusing to give in to a subpoena and submit search query records. On the other hand, Google has the sense to adapt to different needs, in China Google took a step in a different direction and started self-censoring human rights organizations.

Google has strayed into everyone's hearts and become a part of everyday life. Gmail, Gtalk, blogs, news, Google maps, and more. Whatever a person needs or dreams about becomes a reality and what more it is at no cost to users. Googlers are friendly, helpful, spirited, and inspired. They evoke admiration among internet browsers. Its not just service Google has extremely good business sense.

Usability is their aim and simplicity their secret password. Anything complex is not evident to the user. Google realizes that to be ahead even non techies, young and old must be able to use the search engine and different services. They should not be confounded by complexities. No frontier is too far and no problem too great. If a problem exists Google will make all attempts to solve it.

Smart, devoted, and dedicated are three words that can aptly describe Googlers world wide.

Free Anime Movies

The term Anime refers to Japanese animation movies, sometimes called as Japanimation. Japanese comics called Manga heavily influence Anime movies. They are made of bright colors and stylized images with variety of settings and storylines. They cater to a large and varied audience all over the world.

The term Japanimation preceded Anime but has now fallen to disuse. Earlier, in the1970?s and 1980?s the term was common. But in 1990?s, animation movies reached worldwide market, so Japanimation refers now only to domestic animation. In Europe, Japanese animation is also called as Manga after the Japanese comics.

Osamu Tezuka?s ?Astro Boy? in 1963 was the first popular Anime series. In the 1970?s the Japanese animation industry split from its Western roots and started unique genres like Giant Robots. The 1980?s saw a boom in anime production and 1990?s and 2000?s saw the rising popularity of anime in the overseas market. In 2003, Spirited Away won the Oscar for best animated feature.

Anime covers a wide range of genres like science fiction, romance, live action, fantasy, erotica, adventure, and even social commentary. Most Animes come in three formats-films, television series and original video animation. Films are released in theatres and have the highest budgets and the best video quality. Popular Anime films include Akira and Spirited Away. A television series is syndicated and broadcast on T.V. and an original animated video is similar to a made for TV movie.

There?s is a controversy around fan subs that are Animes subtitled by fans and released for download through Bit Torrent and distributed for free. Also problematic are bootleg versions of Animes from Southeast Asia.

Free Anime movies are available at a few sites that allow free downloads of several types of movies or are exclusively dedicated to Anime movies. For example, a new site called Anime Monarchy is a one-stop site for free shows like Pokemon and movie downloads like Kiki?s Delivery Service, Anime games and Anime lyrics. Besides these, Anime Collections.com, 1StopMovies.com and TV Central have free Anime movie downloads.

Computer Gaming Online ? Play A Role

Computer gaming online role-playing is actually the new fun spin of the former hit of role-playing games which have been sold to thousands and thousands of people in comic shops for years. This is actually consistent with our expanding world because our leisure activities are moving towards electronic correspondence as computers become more and more ingrained in our society, culture and our everyday lives.

The original Role-playing games was started back in the 1970?s with Dungeons and Dragons games and rapidly grew to include virtually any type of game or scenario you could possibly imagine including games revolving around espionage, horror, action-adventure, science fiction, sports and a lots of other genres.

The Role-Playing Games Computer Version

Role-playing games destroyed the traditional cause effect method that the original board games utilized and quickly turned the games into an improvisational exercise that most people found quite intriguing. As time passed, people used online computer gaming to expand how role playing games can be carried out. In the computer gaming online version of role-playing, normal players will write/type their ?scenarios? or ?maps? and submit them via email to the administrator or game master running the game. The game master then weighs all the emails from the participating players and decides how these scenarios play off against each other in order to play the game. Doesn?t that sound fun?

How Do Producers of The Role Playing Game Feel About This?

Now, while you might assume that the role-playing game companies would just love the fact that there are computer gaming online means of playing the games and that they could use that when expanding their customer base. However some role-playing game companies have some concerns about this computer gaming online trend that is evolving.

The computer gaming online role-playing trend has really hurt sales of game packages and board games because people no longer have the wants and needs for the original role-playing set as they are almost never playing in a room together with the each other but are instead connected electronically with people from all over the globe. It is doubtful that the bottom will fall out on the original game producing companies because the product that they offer is still extremely popular all over the world, but there have been many dollars lost due to the free market competition that the computer gaming online role-playing provides.

Naturally many of these companies are now offering their own free online role-playing services and games as a means of promoting their original product sets. They are also offering fee based subscriptions for online role-playing games so in fact the internet are already providing a solid revenue stream for the companies. There is a paradoxical relationship between the internet and the role-playing game companies, but in the end, the internet has been good to most of these companies and will continue to benefit them greatly provided that the companies evolve accordingly.

Predictions on the exciting future of Video Game Design

Video game making has come a long way since the days of programmers spending hundreds of hours writing long lines of code. And while it is not possible to accurately predict how any technology will look in the future there are some interesting trends developing in the world of video game design.

Video game design is undergoing a dramatic shift. It is transforming from a creative pursuit that has a lot of work involved to a creative pursuit where the work is handled by the computer. This is the goal and impetus of game making; to get closer to the creative process, harnessing creativity, while leaving the mundane tasks to the computer. And the computer does this so well.

There are three different realms of game making that I will adventure into. ?And I will make some exciting predictions as to where we are headed.

The Language of Computers and People

The first realm of game making advancement lies in language. And what I mean by this is that when you are designing a game you have to communicate with a computer. You have to tell it what you want to see in the game and what you want to happen in the game. This began with programmers writing out long lines of code in a programming language. This language was something that took many hundreds of hours to learn.? In effect, people had to learn the computers language.? But, as computers advanced things changed and the Graphical User Interface came into the forefront as a much better means of communication between people and computers. Now you could use your mouse and navigate on the screen to get things done without knowing any computer language at all. And this also applied to game making. Now there are applications that are almost exclusively drag and drop. You can build worlds and insert items, objects, models, and behaviors into the without doing any coding.

Okay, so what is next in the world of language and game making? It lies in the golden fleece of the computer world: ?Natural Spoken Language?. Software companies have been chasing after the goal of making computers totally hands free for a long time now. And while there are lots of voice recognitions software programs out there they don?t perform well enough yet.? But we keep moving forward and we will get there. And when we do the technology will become an integral part of game making and game design. You will be able to tell an application ?I want a castle. No, make it bigger. Good, now put stained glass windows. Now I want a character that is a big muscle bound hero. Etc. ?etc?

When voice recognition is perfected and becomes ubiquitous we will have crossed an important threshold in technology. No longer will we as people have to learn the language of computers. Computers will have learned ours.? And this will have a dramatic impact on game making.

Algorithms of Growth

Another very exciting area of development when it comes to game making is the area of self teaching and self growth. Games will be able to take small amounts of information and guidance that you provide and grow themselves in ways that you want, and also in unpredictable but rules based ways that you design. ?The computer gaming world is already making big advances in this area and some good examples of this are the Sims games where the world grows on its own but under your guidance. A game soon to be coming out that very much takes this self-growth into mind is the new game called Spawn.? As a game designer you will be able to dictate a set of rules and watch as your game grows.

Interfacing with people

The potentially most exciting aspect of game design comes in the advancements of interfaces.? As computers move toward the creation of virtual 3d worlds that are free of the monitor so will game makers become free of them. There will come a time that game makers actually see three dimensional models of their games as they make them. You will be able to reach right into the game world and move things around, stretch objects bigger, squeeze them smaller, and paint them different colors all with a stroke of your hand. This freedom will tap directly into the power of our eyes and take game making to heights never even imagined.

Game Design has come a very long way since the early days of long lines of programming code and the art will continue to develop in very exciting ways. And while it is difficult to predict which ways the technology will go it is a fact that we will continue to move in ways that will bring it closer to bringing to life your imagination and your ideas while sending into the shadows all the computer work. In effect the computer itself will become less and less obvious in the process and creativity more and more powerful.

Why do Women Get Attracted to Married Men?

The hooked and booked man is like a forbidden temptation. That's what makes him irresistibly attractive to a woman. He stirs a challenge in her. She feels a sense of power in attracting a man who is already taken. What makes him the catch for her is his confidence, experience and authority. The excitement stems from the fact that he's already taken.

The golden rule here is: you want what you can't have. Soon, this man becomes an overwhelming obsession for a woman. I call it the 'forbidden fruit obsession'.

According to me, there are two reasons for women falling for married men. Firstly, wild attraction. And secondly, vulnerability. For a woman, a married man represents a certain security she craves. A woman feels that a married man - compared to a bachelor - can meet her emotional and material needs in a better manner. Getting a married man signifies a triumph of one woman over another woman. He's a trophy catch. To have him, is about making the impossible.

If a woman wanted a fling, she could have had it with anybody. But a married man at her beck and call makes her value herself more... that he's willing to throw it all over for her. It increases her self-esteem. Mind you, she's enjoying this fantasy, as much as his wooing, his experience and the way he makes her feel extra special.

Sometimes, she likes the fact that he doesn't go weak in the knees in front of her. He's a symbol of authority. This relationship is about adventure and fun. But this is dangerous fun. There's a risk of running another person's life.

Married men love playing games. They give out the vibe - 'I'm married but I'm game'. Married men are always on the lookout for fun. These are men on the prowl. For a woman, it might be difficult to resist the vibes of attraction from a married man. He makes himself so indispensable.

A married man can give you a great time. There are times when this forbidden attraction transforms into love and romance, especially if the man doesn't have a happy marriage. Not all married men are jerks, some even leave their wives and get married to women they love. But the fact is, men and women love playing power games with each other. This is a dangerous game. It can take you through highs and lows, like you've never experienced. Human beings are fragile and one learns from trial and error. So it's you have to decide, whether it is a viable option to have a relationship with a married man.

Hello From Niagara Falls ? Exploring The Clifton Hills Entertainment Area and Doing A Little Gambling

Hello From Niagara Falls ? Exploring The Clifton Hills Entertainment Area & Doing A Little GamblingSubmitted By: Susanne Pacher

Yesterday morning my last full day in Niagara Falls, Ontario, had arrived. After a packed schedule the day before that had included a wonderful presentation at the Imax Theatre, my up-close encounter with the Great Falls at the Journey Behind the Falls and an entertaining show at the Oh Canada Eh? Dinner Theatre, I got ready for another full day of explorations in Niagara Falls.

I already got a great start to the day when Kevin Kilpatrick, the gourmet chef and co-owner of Kilpatrick Manor, prepared an absolutely scrumptious breakfast for me: after a delicious fresh fruit platter with yoghurt and freshly made banana bread I feasted on ?breakfast ravioli?, one of Kevin?s unique culinary inventions. This light yet tasty breakfast dish features scrambled eggs, bacon and old cheddar cheese surrounded by thinly rolled out pasta and a home made tomato sauce with garlic, white wine and leeks. Kevin, with his gregarious and outgoing manner, sat down with me and kept me entertained with stories from his international hospitality adventures in France when he and wife Nance were managing a large chalet in the French Alps.

After this great start I rushed out to take my rental vehicle back to Budget Rent-A-Car since my husband was coming in from Toronto to join me in Niagara Falls. Although I had driven only 78 kilometers in two days, my little Toyota Yaris had served me extremely well in getting around Niagara Falls at a reasonable price.

On this sunny yet very cold day we started with a nice walk at the foot of Clifton Hill, strolling westwards along the Niagara Parkway towards the Canadian Horshehoe Falls. A brilliant blue sky bathed the Niagara River in bright light, and some of the metal railings next to the walkway were covered in sparkling ice formations from the mist that is formed by the Horseshoe Falls. Dozens of other tourists were also taking a noon-time walk and were snapping pictures of their friends and families against the backdrop of the mighty Niagara Falls.

Our real destination for today was the Clifton Hill area ? Niagara Fall?s main tourist promenade. Clifton Hill, the street, extends from the Niagara Parkway next to the Niagara River to Victoria Avenue on top of the hill and features dozens of restaurants, gift shops, fast food outlets, hotels and various attractions such as haunted houses, wax museums and other tourist entertainment. This popular tourist trap is often packed to the gills with people strolling up and down, soaking in the boisterous carnival atmosphere of this area.

Clifton Hill has a long-standing history as an entertainment area: hotels have been in existence here since the late 1800s. During the 1920s this area developed into a popular tourist destination and several additional inns and tourist camps were constructed nearby over the next few decades. Since the 1960s several museums have been built, which include the Houdini Hall of Fame, the Hollywood Wax Museum, the House of Frankenstein, the Guiness World Records Museum, Ripley?s Believe It Or Not and several others.

We decided to make our first stop at the Niagara SkyWheel, a recently constructed giant ferris wheel whose 42 climate controlled gondolas provide an excellent view over all the main attractions of Niagara Falls. During the 10 minute ride on this 53 metre high ferris wheel we had a magnificent view over the Canadian and American Falls as well as over all the other attractions and the residential areas of Niagara Falls. Fortunately, the weather was perfect for this experience and our 360 degree panoramic view extended for many miles.

Because of the brisk weather we decided to duck inside and headed into the Guiness World Records Museum. Formerly called the Guiness Book of World Records, this institution has a colourful history: the managing director of the famous Guiness Brewery in Ireland happened to ask himself during a hunting party in 1951 which bird was faster ? a grouse or a golden plover? Unable to find an answer to this question in reference books, he figured that there would have to be thousands of other questions that could not be settled by consulting a reference book and decided to create a book to supply answers to these types of questions.

The book became an overnight surprise hit and eventually an updated version featuring new records was published on a yearly basis and has evolved from a text-heavy reference book into a colourful, richly illustrated publication. In recent years several small museums have been created in locations such as Tokyo, San Francisco, Hollywood, Atlantic City, Myrtle Beach and Copenhagen to showcase noteworthy, and sometimes bizarre, world records. The location in Niagara Falls features photos and descriptions of many examples of world records including such curiosities as the world?s tallest man and the world?s smallest woman.

We explored the many interactive displays that feature world records in the spheres of entertainment, art, literature and sport. Natural disasters and scientific achievements are covered as well. Some of the records on display truly boggle the mind and it makes you wonder who has the time to come up with some of these rather offbeat ideas for world records, and who might have the time to execute those ideas. Images of record holders such as the man with the world?s longest ear hairs (4 inches!) were a little scary, to be honest.

Our next destination featured similarly off-beat human feasts: Ripley?s Believe It or Not!, built to look loke a collapsed Empire State Building with King Kong standing at the top, is a true collection of human oddities. Robert LeRoy Ripley (1893 to 1949) was a cartoonist, entrepreneur and amateur anthropologist whose newspaper panel series featured odd but true facts from all over the world. Ripley travelled a lot and became a collector of unusual items from all sorts of exotic destinations around the globe. From 1929 onwards Robert Ripley fascinated readers of seventeen national newspapers with his Believe It Or Not syndicated newspaper panel series. At the height of his popularity he was said to have received more mail than the American president. Ripley became a true media giant of his time and expanded into radio and early television before his death of a heart attack in 1949.

At the Niagara Falls Ripley?s Believe It or Not! we continued our exploration of strange and exotic things and were greeted right away by a three-dimensional sculpture of the world?s largest woman. True oddities such as vampire killing kits, a collection of macabre yet funny gravestones, two-headed piglets and a variety of life-sized optical illusions transported us into the land of the surreal and bizarre. To round out the collection of oddities, Ripley?s also operates a Moving Theatre and Louis Tussaud?s Waxworks in Niagara Falls.

After these explorations of the strange and unusual we decided to head back to our cozy bed and breakfast, the Kilpatrick Manor B&B. Chilled to the bone we decided to relax on the comfortable king-size bed, turn on the fireplace, watch a bit of TV and warm up under the soft cotton covers. A luxurious shower in the multi-jet Neptune shower helped to warm up my frozen bones. Now I understood what the owner Kevin Kilpatrick was referring to when he told me that guests just like to ?nest? at their bed and breakfast. It was indeed a supremely comfortable relaxing environment that got us ready for our last evening in Niagara Falls.

We decided to have dinner at the Frontier Grillhouse which is located adjacent to the Best Western Fireside Hotel with a great view overlooking the Niagara River. This modern casual restaurant features an extensive menu with a variety of freshly prepared breakfast dishes or an all-you-can-eat breakfast. The dinner menu has a large selection of appetizers, soups and salads and a wide range of grilled dishes including prime rib, New York striploin, Filet Mignon, T-bone steaks. Pastas, seafood and desserts round out the offering at the Frontier Grillhouse. I enjoyed my piping hot French onion soup and garlicky escargots with gratinated mozzarella while my husband treated himself to a very generous plate of Fettucine Alfredo. We couldn?t have added dessert even if we had wanted to.

We could have relaxed for even longer at the Frontier Grillhouse, but one more adventure was waiting for us: a bit of gambling at the Fallsview Casino Resort. Niagara Falls has long been a popular destination for gambling. On the Ontario side there are two large casinos: Casino Niagara, located in the Clifton Hill area, and the recently opened Fallsview Casino Resort which has been enticing gamblers since 2004. As we had already explored Clifton Hill, we decided to visit the Fallsview Casino which is an impressive hotel, shopping, gaming and entertainment complex located on a hill with an amazing view of the majestic Canadian Horseshoe Falls.

The entire complex is mind-boggling ? with a 100,000 square foot gaming floor it impresses even the most experienced casino-goer. Since it was our first time here and neither one of us is a casino regular, we were astounded by the seemingly never-ending gaming floor which features 3000 slot machines and 150 table games. Everywhere lights are blinking and the chime-like sounds of the slot machines fill the air. My husband is quite a talented hobby poker player, and he checked out the amazing array of table games, which include poker games like Let It Ride and Carribean Stud. Other table games include Baccarat, Blackjack, Craps, Roulette and Spanish 21 as well as more exotic varieties such as the ancient Chinese Sic Bo game of dice, Pai Gow Tiles ? a Chinese version of dominoes, and Pai Gow Poker which combines elements Asian Pai Gow and Western-style poker.

I decided to just watch the action and sit back as my husband tried his hand at different types of poker. Lady Luck was shining on him for a while, but as the evening progressed he gave back all his winnings and lost a bit of money. But I could see from his face that he had thoroughly enjoyed himself and had a great evening. We resolved to come to Niagara Falls again and next time we were going to bring my mother-in-law as well who loves playing the slots occasionally.

Nicely tired from a full night of entertainment we got back to our cozy B&B and just fell into bed for a great night?s sleep. This morning it was time for us to leave, but before our departure we enjoyed one more delicious breakfast at the Kilpatrick Manor B&B. Chef Kevin had prepared an absolutely scrumptious strawberry crepe with Grand Marnier sauce (absolutely heavenly!) while my husband enjoyed Kevin?s ?full-on fry?, featuring eggs any style, bacon, sausage, potatoes and toast.

We regretted to have to leave Niagara Falls, but fortunately our adventures were set to continue with a trip to Buffalo and a subsequent flight from Buffalo for a quick tropical jaunt to Puerto Rico. But this three-day adventure in Niagara Falls has been a great entertaining winter getaway from the city. Despite my tightly packed schedule in Niagara Falls I have only scratched the surface of things to see and do and I plan to come back some time in the summer to see enjoy some of the outdoor activities that Niagara Falls and the surrounding region have to offer.

Feel The Difference Playing Shooting Games

Feel The Difference Playing Shooting GamesSubmitted By: Peter Rodrick

Online or computer gaming has brought in skyrocketing popularity among the masses. From puzzles to races and from there to actions, there are hundreds of computer and video games that are played worldwide with a variety of platforms like PlayStation III, PlayStation II, Xbox, Nintendo Wii and Nintendo DS.

Out of all, if one is looking some great and different experience, the shooting games are ready to serve their best everywhere on the Internet. You may get what you have been looking for. One can search different types of shooting games on gaming websites and also on game CDs. Depending upon the type (CD or Internet), one can feel million dollars while gunning down the enemies and achieving the topnotch success. Shooting games are action games and many times, they are based on famous movies. Some of the games like The Medal of The Honor have been designed based upon some wars.

Shooting game can also include shooting the meteorites and other targets in the space. StarWars Game is one of the best examples for popular space games. Despite all the controversies, psychiatrists do agree that action games can induce alertness in the players. Shooting games also improve hand-to-brain coordination and can make player lively. Shooting game belongs to the genre of games that involves exotic games like wars, fighting, space travels, SpaceWars, fictional adventures and mission based games. Nowadays, the shooting games have been made more advanced and they are now powered with heart-throbbing effects (live-like graphics) and ultimate sound effects. Many of the game-makers, oftentimes, add a storyline to make game more interesting.

The shooting games of the modern era are more interactive and they can be played as single-player or in multi-player mode. Another genre of shooting or action games known as MMORPG ?massively multi-player online role playing game, has brought revolution in online Internet gaming zone and has gained great success within short period of its invention.

Many of the game player makers provide players with different attractive joysticks and guns that bring realistic flair in shooting games. Such devices also come with infrared technology that does not require any cords/wires. Such cordless joysticks and guns are very sensitive and make shooting experiencing more virtual. Shooting games are available on the game CDs and if your pocket does not permit it, you can even play them online. Again, online gaming also offers you to download some software and then to play the game or if you don?t want to provide space in the computer, you can play online. However, playing online may not meet your satisfaction in graphics and sounds.

Shooting game is the best way to show the soldier within you who always seek some mission and likes to mess with enemies without any fear. All you need is a computer, a device (like keyboard with mouse or joystick) and Internet (in case of online game) or a player (in case of offline game) and most importantly, the enthusiasm and a spirit to gun-down the enemies and a robust attitude.

The Popular Sport Of Airsoft Gaming

High intensity, high adrenaline, non-stop energy all leading into head-to-head competition! All this while keeping yourself and your team focused on the single objective at hand, ?take no prisoners?. Airsoft Gaming, very similar to Paintball gaming, is becoming widespread and at the same time a worldwide sport. There are many forms, regulations and simulations that the Airsoft enthusiast can participate in but nothing compares to the realistic features and experiences involved in Airsoft Gaming.

Airsoft Gaming took its roots in the East and has been moving to the West for the better part of 20 years. While slowly becoming popular in the US, one can find dedicated Airsoft Gamers from California to Florida and everywhere in between. This sport has become a great event for big corporations to offer to their employees as a fun adventure day, and is even found at small events like birthday parties hosting only ten people. Men and women, old and young alike, can participate in a great heart racing, strategy-involving, team-building activity.

Many Airsoft enthusiasts participate in standard Skirmish games, Mil-Sim games, or impressive Mock Battle games. Skirmish?s are usually run like the following: two teams trying to kill off the other team in any variation ranging from capture the flag, siege fights, or last-man standing. While Mil-Sim?s look like the following: role-playing variations and focus on strategy and tactic rather than speed. Finally, Mock Battle?s look like the following: they are structured to simulate a famous battle. Whether the battle mimics something from WWII or something from the Gulf War, it can look like the real thing. Because Airsoft guns are replicas, the participants can put regulations on the Airsoft gun and equipment correlating with the specific time period.

So what does it cost? Well, depending on where you decide to go you can pay anywhere from $15-20 for gun and equipment rentals, plus an extra $5-10 for ammo, and, finally, a small fee of $20-30 to use the property. These are not set prices for any one Airsoft Gaming location just estimates. There are typically discounts for group?s or special occasions. All in all it is a great way for bonding, team building, or just having fun. Whatever worries you have you can blow off your steam while unloading a magazine of 6mm plastic BB?s firing up to 600-900 rounds-per-minute in a safe, non-lethal environment.

It is important to note that with Airsoft Gaming come necessary precautions; all Airsoft Gaming locations will have specific safety requirements. Some general safety precautions and highly recommended safety equipment are for eye and face protection. Wearing some form of heavy clothing is advisable for the rest of your body. Some enthusiasts even use a scarf or handkerchief to protect their necks, while others just go commando wearing only shorts and a T-shirt. It depends on the player, but always remember eye protection is imperative no matter where you are playing.

Finally, I don?t endorse using public property while participating in your Airsoft Gaming experience, although I have heard of teams playing in abandoned buildings, golf courses, and fields. If one wants to participate in this sport in a public place, keep in mind that a group of people flashing 1:1 scale replicas of real firearms could potentially get themselves into trouble. Always remember to make sure that your orange tip on your Airsoft gun is visible and easily seen by spectators. To those who choose to participate in a private closed field, enjoy your Airsoft Gaming and continue to support the fastest growing sport in America.

The Joy Found At Roller Skating Rinks

The Joy Found At Roller Skating RinksSubmitted By: James Brown

When little children enter a roller skating rink for the first time, they are surprised by the deafening sounds that emanate from the roller rink inside. From the lobby of the roller rink, all newcomers are sure to hear marvelous bouts of laughter and they might even hear a cheer or two. People are also going to be exposed to loud music and parents who have been there before will very likely be wear ear plugs.

Entering a roller skating rink for the first time is the start of a grand adventure. Newcomers are exposed to things that they have never seen before in their life. The first task that many roller skaters tackle is selecting the right sized roller skates and the second task that is more easily managed is selecting the locker where the entire family will store their street shoes. Then the family will tackle the task of donning roller skates and try to take a few steps without falling.

The odor of the lockers and the facility as a whole might be offensive to some, and many families bring scented sprays with them so they can rid themselves of the smell of sweaty feet. All members in the family will bring socks with them to the rink, and those socks that are too short will most likely cause blisters to form before the evening of roller skating is through. Experienced skaters know how important it is to bring elastic toe bandages with them every time they go roller skating.

There is still a lot of joy to be realized from roller skating with family and friends. Some roller skaters have spent a lot of time skating and know how to push past others who are slower. A certain etiquette that roller skaters follow is similar to the rules of driving in the fast late. Slower skaters are expected to skate near the wall and the left hand side of the inner circle of the roller rink is reserved for skaters who skate with speeds that are so fast that one might think they are qualifying for a racing event.

There are other types of joy to be found at the neighborhood roller rink. Teenagers enjoy visiting the snack bar and eating pizza with their best friends in the booths that are provided. This area of the roller rink is the best place for teens to go to converse with someone that they asked out on a date. The lights on the roller rink floor are lowered throughout the night and couples have many chances to enjoy some close dancing maneuvers while wearing roller skates.

Some great skaters might choose to share their techniques and help others who are learning to skate with any problems that they might be having. While the roller rink is full of people who have a competitive nature, it is still an environment that is filled with people who care about other people. Roller skating provides many joys to many people. Some roller skaters might spend very little time skating because their interests lie in the video games and pinball machines that are stored in a game room off the skating rink floor.

Dolls are Games Too!

The online gaming industry is full of battles, blood, brain teasers, and adventure, but a certain demographic of online games exists which is often not thought of in the same light. While forming guilds and defining battle strategy is certainly entertaining, others enjoy a more fashionable internet existence Dress up games, such as online paper dolls, are a lesser-known, but hugely popular online form of gaming as well.

Dress Up Games
Paper dolls have been popular for centuries. With the advent of the internet, a game which once required scissors and the patience to carefully cut out little outfits and figures, moved online. The first online paper dolls were used almost exclusively for avatars, but over time, these dolls have formed a significant industry with seemingly endless purposes.

Modern online paper dolls, or simply dolls, include a base, or innocently unclothed figure, with unlimited clothing, hair, and accessories to add. Many online doll websites contain prefabricated dolls to enjoy as well as complete doll makers. These doll makers contain a build area where all aspects such as base, clothing, accessories, and even background can be collected and pieced together. When the doll is complete, it may be saved for additional use, or the build area can be emptied and a new doll created.

Young women enjoy the opportunity to be fashion forward and build dolls using certain styles of dress and the latest clothing fashions and hair styles. Many websites offering these kids' games, such as TheDollPalace.com, unveil new doll makers on a regular basis so that the fan base always has a fresh source of entertainment. Many of the doll makers include current fashion trends and range from casual to seasonal to even formal styles.

How to Play Doll Games
Playing with dolls has many facets. While it is certainly entertaining to view dolls of celebrities or completed dolls showcasing certain styles, it is also fun to play with one's own dolls and create characters. These characters can be saved onto a computer for use as avatars, desktops, screensavers, or even as logos. Of course, this is not the extent of the dress up games.

Creating online dolls has become so popular that many websites catering to these individuals offer contests, challenges, and other fun activities. TheDollPalace.com also contains popular forums and articles with regular comments by members on various fashion related topics or other areas of interest. The dress up game community is growing by leaps and bounds, and is demanding more outlets for their creativity. These demands are routinely met by websites specializing in this form of entertainment.

Many who enjoy the doll games have begun to create their own bases and fashions in addition to working with those already created. Online dolls might not appear to be in the same category as many of the other popular online games, but deserve their rightful place. The time, energy, and creativity invested in the backgrounds, appearance, and uses of these dolls make other seemingly intensive games pale by comparison. Online dolls are more than a game, they represent a life-style.

Aberdeen City guide including Aberdeen Hotels

Aberdeen, in the heart of Scotland's Grampian Highlands, is an ideal
destination for art, history and culture that is slightly off the
beaten track. Scotland's third largest city was inspiration for the
well known Scottish folk song The Northern Lights of Old Aberdeen which
portrays a well worn Scottish theme: that of extreme homesickness when
away from my home native land and celebrates the spectacular
phenomenon of Aurora Borealis.

Places of interest:

Aberdeen was established in 1179, and her fortunes were transformed by
Robert Bruce's 1319 Charter, in recognition of his gratitude to the
people of Aberdeen who had sheltered him during his campaign against
the English. Since 1509 when the renowned University of Aberdeen was
established, Aberdeen has been an academic centre of Europe, which
influences a great many of the cultural and historical activities on
offer in the city and its surrounding areas.

  • Described by Queen Elizabeth II as my dear place in the Highlands
Balmoral Castle offers visitors guided tours of the gardens, historical
exhibitions and luxury safari in the Caledonian Pine Forest, where
visitors can catch glimpses of Scottish wildlife.

  • Another ancestral home continuously inhabited for over 400 years is
Haddo House. Visitors can enjoy Gordon family ancestral portraits,
memorabilia, the old stables and traditional Scottish tea room. Opera,
ballets and plays are presented from May to October.

  • The NorthEast Falconry Centre offers a uniquely close experience
with Scotland's birds of prey. Introduction to Falconry, outside
demonstrations and walks with hawks are just some of the exciting and
    educational activities on offer.

  • Aberdeen Art Galleries and Museums comprises Aberdeen Art Gallery,
Aberdeen Maritime Museum, the Lord Provost's house and The Tollbooth in
one site, and offers a varied programme of events and exhibitions. The
Art Gallery hosts collections dating back to the 18th century of fine
art, and the Maritime museum exults in the region's proud seafaring
traditions. The Tollbooth is made up of 17th century cells, and the
Lord Provost's House portrays the elegance and ritual of upper class
    Highland living.

  • Things to do:

Aberdeen offers a whole host of recreational activities to enjoy. From
parks to museums, tourists will never be bored while in Aberdeen.

    waterfalls, brooks and flora.

over two centuries of one of Scotland's greatest kilted regiments, the
    Gordon Highlanders.

  • For family entertainment, it is hard to beat Sunset Boulevard, an
indoor entertainment centre that offers bowling, dodgems, games and an
adventureland - perfect for the Scottish weather!

  • Known as the jewel in the crown of the city's fantastic parks,
The David Welch Winter Gardens boasts a Tropical House featuring flora
from South and Central America, an Acrid House which creates desert
conditions for exotic cacti to flourish, and a Corridor of Perfumes
which celebrates the variety of perfumes from different plant species.

learn about Scotland's marine history, and find out what ships will be
arriving in the port and when.

  • The world's sixth oldest golf club, The Royal Aberdeen Golf Club
may be able to lay claim to being the site of the invention of the game
of golf. Today the club retains the old world elegance of a gentlemen's

    Finding Your Favorite Adventure Games

For a greater part of the 1980's adventure games have been popular as compared to other types of games. An adventure game is a type of video game that involves puzzle-solving as well as exploration with and some of interaction with the game characters. Narration tends to be the focus and as a result most adventure games tend to be single-player as a multi-player mode will remove the story-based aspect of it.

Most adventure games come in the form of computer games although it's possible to find console-based versions these days. So what makes an adventure game what it is? Well, one of the common features of adventure games is fetch-quests theme where in order to progress, the player has to help a character in order to gain an important item or information. For instance, in a typical scenario where a player needs healing, he may be required to obtain a plant or the ingredients needed to make the magic healing potion. In these cases, the player often has to perform acts of benevolence or selflessness - such as freeing prisoners, animals - in order to locate of gain the reward of these ingredients. There are times they have to distract some characters in order to steal their price.

Another feature is to trap players in a dead end or a seemingly impossible place to escape from forcing the player to employ drastic measures in order to get out of the trap or find a means (sometimes an artefact or a key) to free themselves. These unwinnable games where the player met a dead-end were usually left unfinished unless he was able to return to the original position. A well-known example of this is Return to Zork.

Although, adventure games were very popular in the 1980's, this popularity quickly declined in the early 90's when the Action games became the age. As a result it was not financially sound to create and market them when people had no interest. The advent of console game platforms and MMORPG has not helped either. Nevertheless popular adventure games like Syberia and Syberia II have been published both for the PC and Xbox. In addition, Nintendo DS released of Trace Memory and Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney in 2005 and Hotel Dusk: Room 215 in 2006.

The latest development is that free online adventure games can now obtained on premium internet portals without the need for download or plug-in. Many game lovers are now turning their attention to the internet not just for playing games but for socializing as well. Perhaps this is the new way in which adventure games will be played.

    All New Puzzling Games

The adventure and puzzle genres of video gaming dates back to the early days of video gaming and was quite popular. The main reasons for this to happen were two-fold: they were not graphically very demanding and they needed lot of time to complete. Adventure games kept the player interested by making them solving the riddles within. With a puzzle game, there were chances for the challenges to get revamped up slowly and endlessly.

As you might be aware of, the early champion of adventure games was Sierra Entertainment. They created smash hits on the PC like King?s Quest, Police Quest and, Space Quest. They also managed to release early adult-themed games, like the infamous Leisure Suit Larry series. These games were able to offer players a chance to go on a journey in mythical lands or gritty urban streets. Quite often they were filled up with serious and humorous moments that would delight players for many hours continuously.

Although, the adventure genre of video gaming has experienced a serious downturn with the advent of RPG games and FPS games, there?s still hope for the adventure fanatic.

And on console, most of these adventure games have mainly lived on in the form of horror games. For instance, Resident Evil series has managed to receive two major picture productions and three sequels. Many of these console adventure games add in a bit of action so as to help maintain interest in the video game player.

The puzzle genre is a unique category of games because of the fact that they never really utilize the full power of modern technology. Instead their focus is mainly on timed challenges or difficult problem solving that requires extreme reflexes and quick reaction. The most famous puzzle game of all, Tetris, was insanely popular on the omnipresent Gameboy handheld system by Nintendo. In fact, Nintendo continues to heir the puzzle genre of video gaming with smash-hit titles like Mario Party, Mario Pinball Land and Wario World etc. Today, games are much more user friendly than games of the past. Games are so user friendly and attractive to the eye that in most cases, adults enjoy the games as much as if not more than the younger generations. To find out further information about video games, log onto the internet today there is a plethora of information available video gamers.

When we're only focused on making the sale, this is not a natural meeting place for both people. We want the sale, but the other person usually wants us to go away. Being intrusive is not the finest of character traits, and on some level we know it. Can we feel good about cold calling? Look at cold calling as an opportunity to assist someone. Just look at it that way, your helping someone, what's wrong with that? Look at cold calling as an adventure.
Tell the truth, be positive, be confident, you will make your prospect much more comfortable. When you approach a potential client with integrity and common sense, you're more personable and less tense. Being fully honest is one of your better attributes. And it gives you an opportunity to enjoy the interaction rather than being artificial or deceiving. People do seem to have a sixth sense about integrity.
